Photography Themes
May 26th, 2009
Had a few ideas for themes that are photo-related.
Take a photo of…
1. Every falling-down barn I see (not sure I have the patience for this one).
2. Every lighthouse I see (I’d be doing this one regardless of formal theme designation).
3. Every gas station I fill up at.
4. Every place I sleep.
5. All the trailhead signs for trails I hike.
Maybe.

Never underestimate the intrigue of the water towers as you cross America. I always thought this would be a great Americana photo essay.
Wow, yeah, that’s a great one. You kind of forget those exist when you’re living in SoCal.
Ah, photo themes. Still trying to think of my major one, the fil d’Arianne in our round-world trip.
Julien still hasn’t forgiven me for not letting him take pics of some falling down barns in Louisiana. “You’ll see plenty more!” I assured him. And, wouldn’t you know, we didn’t see another for the entire trip.
LOL. Yeah, I imagine that’s how falling-down barns are. Always there when you don’t need ’em, but never when you do.
Carpe diem! (Mostly I regret not buying the original Chicago Cubs wall clock I saw when we first moved to our current house — carpe diem!)
Get a photo next to the entry sign for every National Park you visit. Also, get one of those National Park passport books that you can get stamped at each site. My kids each have one and I secretly wish that I had gotten myself one, too.
